OverviewMartin Retail Group is seeking an accomplished Account Director to support Local Marketing Association advertising activity in key markets across the North Central Region. This person can be located anywhere across the Mid-West. The role serves as the primary client contact with Dealer Advisory Boards and regional clients (Zone Manager, District Sales Managers, Regional Director, Regional Brand Marketing Managers). The Account Director will also partner with national brand teams in the stewardship of client brands throughout all communications and should become an expert in each local market and its challenges/opportunities.
Responsibilities- Supervise day-to-day implementation of Local Market Advertising (LMAs):
- Budgets, Media Plans & Buys, Creative, and Traffic
- Work closely with all agency departments (creative director and teams; planner and media team) to develop strategy, creative and media plans/budgets
- Present and communicate regional/local marketing needs and opportunities to Dealer Advisory Boards:
- Research & provide follow up results to show that client objectives are achieved
- Assist in Regional business including the preparation of client presentation materials, strategy implementation, and acting as a point of contact for executive client deliverables
- Work with the assigned Account Coordinator and/or Account Executive in assisting you in all aspects of your job:
- Will provide performance feedback, career development, and training as needed
- Orchestrate integration of all marketing and communication fields
- Represent client with vendors and at marketing events, etc., relaying information back to agency team
Clients:
Clients include Local Marketing Association dealers, General Motors Zone Managers, General Motors District Sales Managers and General Motors Regional Directors.
Travel:
Light to medium travel, possibly 3-6 days per month within the region (Up to 15%). Travel will likely include both day and overnight trips and will vary by month based on client needs.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Management, or 4-year equivalent is required.
Required Experience:
- 7+ years agency account management experience at the Account Director level or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent public speaking abilities; this position will lead client presentations on a monthly basis.
Preferred Experience:
- Automotive advertising experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong understanding of retail advertising and Go-To-Market implementation is preferred

Compensation Range: $95,950 - $137,865 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third‑party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
