Location: Spring Valley

Riverfront Machine is seeking a hands‑on Industrial Engineer to support and improve our metal stamping and manufacturing operations. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for administering and continuously improving Riverfront Machine’s safety program across all manufacturing operations, including metal stamping, CNC machining, welding, material handling, and forklift operations.

This role ensures compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, promotes a strong safety culture, and works closely with leadership and production teams to proactively identify and reduce workplace hazards.

The Safety Coordinator will support training efforts, conduct regular plant audits, investigate incidents, and serve as a key resource for safety‑related policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety Program & Compliance
  • Develops, implements, and maintains Riverfront Machine’s safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety standards.
  • Interprets and enforces all safety policies, procedures, and work rules across CNC machining, press operations, welding, and material handling areas.
  • Reviews new machinery, tooling, and equipment layouts to ensure appropriate guarding, lockout/tagout, and safety controls are in place prior to operation.
Plant Inspections & Hazard Prevention
  • Conducts routine safety audits and plant walkthroughs to inspect equipment, workstations, forklifts, and facility conditions.
  • Identifies unsafe conditions and behaviors, recommends corrective actions, and works with leadership to implement improvements, including cost and risk analysis.
  • Ensures fire protection systems, emergency exits, eyewash stations, PPE, and machine guarding meet regulatory requirements.
Training & Employee Engagement
  • Coordinates and conducts safety training for all employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing refresher training.
  • Delivers training on topics such as PPE usage, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, forklift safety, welding safety, ergonomics, and emergency response.
  • Partners with supervisors to reinforce safe work practices and promote employee accountability.
  • Investigates workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Prepares and maintains OSHA documentation, including OSHA 300/300A/301 logs and incident reports.
  • Tracks safety metrics and trends, and provides reports to management.
Safety Systems & Documentation
  • Maintains safety records, policies, procedures, and training documentation.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to safety culture, compliance, and risk reduction.
  • Serves as a liaison during regulatory inspections or audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety support experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (metal stamping, machining, welding, or similar preferred).
  • OSHA training or safety certification preferred (OSHA 10/30, CHST, CSP, or equivalent is a plus).
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, and shop‑floor hazards.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and general industrial safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with hourly employees, supervisors, and leadership.
Work Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with overtime as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the plant for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate up to 30+ pounds.
  • Ability to visually monitor machinery, work processes, and safety conditions.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, forklifts, and industrial equipment.
