Overall mission:

Participate in flavor application and provide technical expertise to guide operational excellence and improve client delivery systems, according to business goals and EH&S policies. You will be based in Vienna (Austria) and report to the Application Manager. The position will be opened with a 1 year long fix-term contract (maternity cover).

• Flavour Application
• Accomplish daily brief-related tasks including flavour selection, product evaluation, and application development
• Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
• Select flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
• Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
• Knowledge sharing and expertise
• Be a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
• Data maintenance
• Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
• Environmental Health & Safety
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

• Professional
  
  Experience:
  
  
• Polytechnic or B.S.: minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
• Master's Degree: minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
• Ph.D.: minimum 0-1 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
• Technical Skills
• Understanding of selected food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers' food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
• Lead selected customer projects
• Translate market trends into innovative products for selected customers
• Instruct technicians and technologists
