Job DescriptionThe Sanitation Technician I will be responsible for safely operating and cleaning equipment, handling chemicals for sanitizing production equipment, and cleaning the production area in accordance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). A Sanitation Technician I may be required to perform minor disassembly and assembly of equipment to facilitate the cleaning process. The essential functions include ensuring plant sanitary conditions according to established food safety and quality standards.
When any deficiency in requirements occur, it is the responsibility of the Sanitation Technician I to take appropriate action and inform the appropriate personnel.
Hourly rate for this position starts at $20.25/hr with regular pay increases at 3, 6, and 12 months provided attendance and performance are in good standing.
Responsibilities- Disassemble, clean, and sanitize production machinery, equipment, tables, bins, pans, utensils, and any other items used in the production process, using a variety of equipment, including high‑pressure water hoses.
- Clean and sanitize all floors, walls, ceilings, structures, drains, vents, evaporators, light fixtures, etc., within production and support areas.
- Ensure proper care of equipment during the cleaning process and cover control boxes and critical components to prevent water infiltration.
- Transport and store equipment and components safely and non‑destructively.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including Chemical Safety Lockout/Tagout and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), report any unsafe conditions, and immediately report any near‑miss, injury, or other incident.
