Industrial Engineer at Butterball summary:Seeking an Industrial Engineer to support Butterball manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing mechanical and electrical production equipment, performing diagnostics, and supporting continuous improvement and preventative maintenance programs. The role requires reading schematics, documenting maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with GMP and USDA regulations, and collaborating with maintenance, engineering and production teams. Physical work in manufacturing environments includes lifting, climbing, and standing, and requires a bachelor's in industrial or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).

- Troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing industrial machinery and electrical systems.
- Operate and monitor production equipment in accordance with engineering guidelines and safety protocols.
- Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics using tools such as multimeters, calipers, gauges, and precision measurement instruments.
- Observe machine operation and report performance deviations, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns to engineering leadership.
- Support continuous improvement projects related to equipment efficiency, production workflow, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Review diagrams, schematics, engineering instructions, and equipment manuals to support machine setup and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance tasks, equipment performance, and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA regulations, and company quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform additional technical duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent in a closely related field
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals in English.
- Competency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems using standard diagnostic tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment operation and process flow.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize technical tasks, and make data supported decisions.
- Effective communication with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
- Constant standing and walking (8 hours or more per day)
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more).
- Reaching overhead.
- Working from a ladder of raised platform.
- Reaching below knees.
- Ability to reasonably multitask.
- Working with electricity, tools, and wiring.
- Completing required paperwork in timely manner.
- Using material handling equipment as needed.
