Overview
Champion Laboratories, Inc. is a full-line filter manufacturer located in Albion, Illinois. We are currently seeking a Production Control Planner to join our team.
Position SummaryThe Production Control Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining a daily production schedule for assigned part numbers to ensure adequate resources are available to meet production, inventory, and customer requirements. This role may also involve releasing raw material orders to vendors in alignment with the production schedule.
Responsibilities- Coordinate department efforts to ensure scheduled ship dates are met and desired inventory levels are maintained.
- Generate shop orders and all related materials for assigned work centers.
- Communicate daily production priorities to Supervisors, Tactical Purchasing Agents, and the Plant Manager.
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies to the Inventory Specialists for root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Support company policies, procedures, and programs related to personnel, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Review the daily Projected Fill Rate report, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate product availability dates to the Customer Service team.
- Create purchase orders as needed to maintain production schedules and inventory levels.
- Manage use-up inventory during product transitions implemented by Product Teams.
- Maintain and update production batch quantities and buffer management coding.
This position reports directly to the Materials Manager at our Albion facility. The Production Control Planner works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure parts and finished goods are produced according to schedule and customer ship dates are achieved. Daily communication of material shortages, capacity issues, and production priorities is essential to maintaining operational performance.
QualificationsExperience:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Reliability and consistent attendance are essential.
- Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as required.
