Break/Bulk Facility Tech - Assembly Laborer
The Break/Bulk Facility Tech – Assembly Laborer is a hands‑on role responsible for bagging, unloading, and loading bulk and/or break‑bulk products, including work on barges, trucks, rail cars, and conveyor systems. The position is essential to the daily operation of our grain and transportation facilities, providing steady hours, comprehensive benefits, and professional growth opportunities prisma.
Responsibilities- Fully participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings
- Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable) and wear proper PPE
- Operate deckhand responsibilities such as securing barges, reading drafts, opening and closing door lids, tying off barges, and other related tasks
- Operate a skid loader during the final stage of barge unloading
- Set up and operate conveyor system(s) where applicable
- Ensure correct product is directed to the correct storage area
- Clean up the barge after unloading by sweeping and/or shoveling
- Load railcars and trucks to specifications where required
- Complete documentation promptly, accurately, and legibly
- Operate various heavy equipment and perform preventive maintenance where applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned, including general housekeeping of the entire work area
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Experience: None required; preferred is 1 year of experience working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability особен plan to interact with all levels of people inside and outside the organization
- Ability to complete documentation requirements
- Ability to follow direction and use logical thinking to interpret oral and written instructions and troubleshoot problems

- Ability to grasp and reach frequently
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work in an environment with high dust levels around grain and other bulk products
- Ability to meet the requirements of PFT and fit testing, when applicable
- Ability to Anchorage utilize all applicable
KarPA PPE - Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts as needed
The work environment is both indoor and outdoor in variable weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, humid, and dry environments. Personal protective equipment is frequently required.
Travel5%–20% travel may be required at some facilities, including off‑site training and/or work at alternate locations.
PayThe expected base pay range for this role is $18.50–$24.00 per hour. Actual pay offered may vary depending on work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
