Quality Control Technician
Springfield Plastics, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to assist in verifying the quality of products entering our manufacturing process and the final products coming off the production lines.
OverviewAs a Quality Control Technician, you will conduct tests to determine the quality of materials and finished products, identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency, and support manufacturing on the production floor. You will communicate quality issues to the quality control director and upper management. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, detail‑oriented, dependable, organized, and able to multi‑task and prioritize while working with a team.
Responsibilities- Perform thorough examinations of all materials and finished products.
- Conduct and report internal audits and evaluations.
- Implement and improve quality control operating procedures.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems and defects.
- Participate in routine visual inspections.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous work experience in quality control or related fields.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of measuring devices (e.g., calipers and micrometers).
- Understanding of basic mathematics.
- Lab testing and reporting experience.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds above the head on a repetitive basis.
- Walk and stand for up to 12 consecutive hours.
- Perform repetitive motions with hands, arms, feet, legs, shoulders, and back for 12 consecutive hours.
- Tolerate high temperatures.
- Work overtime and weekends during heavy production times.
