Monthly: $9,174 – $10,660 (Annual: $110,088 – $127,920)

Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities seeks a Residential Services Administrator for the Murray Developmental Center in Centralia, Illinois. The Administrator will oversee daily operations, staff, and program services for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring person‑centered care, independence, and community involvement.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as Residential Services Administrator.
  • Direct professional staff and non‑professional unit staff in formulating and implementing programs and habilitation/treatment plans for individuals served.
  • Serve as full‑line supervisor.
  • Coordinate unit programs with other units.
  • Verify unit program policies, procedures and treatment plans comply with Department rules and regulations, Center policy and procedures, Department of Human Services (DHS), Public Health, as well as other relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement unit training programs.
  • Attend Executive Committee meetings to determine unit and Center policy and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with coursework in a social or human services field.
  • Four (4) years progressively responsible administrative experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four (4) years of professional experience working with residential treatment programs, services, policies and procedures.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in developing strategic plans, long and short‑term goals for a residential treatment program.
  • Four (4) years of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience developing and monitoring plans of corrective action.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in the formulation and implementation of treatment programs and habilitation plans.
  • Four (4) years of professional experience organizing, administering, and evaluating ongoing services in a multi‑disciplinary operation.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
  • Requires the ability work on‑call, after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires the ability to serve as Administrator on Duty (AOD) on a rotation basis.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
  • Requires the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State and the Executive Ethics Commission as required by Illinois Governmental Ethics Act.
