Anticipated Full-Time Custodian 2nd Shift (8 hours)

To assist the Head Custodian in the cleaning and general maintenance of the New Salem Elementary School.

• Assist Head Cook in putting cafeteria supplies away.
• Assist Head Custodian with lawn and buildings and grounds work, including snow removal and mowing grass as required.
• Clean and wet mop kitchen and dishwashing area daily.
• Remove garbage, cans, and boxes from the cafeteria as required.
• Check and mop cafeteria floor after every lunch period if necessary.
• Clean windows and wash barrels in preparation for the next day.
• Vacuum carpet as assigned.
• Empty waste cans as assigned.
• Wash blackboards as assigned.
• Clean and wet mop the hallway as assigned.
• Clean the tables, chairs, walls and wet mop the cafeteria every day.
• Assist directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian, Principal or other Managers / Administrators.

• Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
• Practical experience in custodial services is desirable.
• Familiarity with commercial type sweepers, buffing machines, and other custodial equipment and procedures are desirable.
• Trained to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the district.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Maturity and the ability to deal effectively with students and staff.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within the limits of assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to frequently walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Receipt of current, favorable clearances including:
  Pennsylvania State Criminal History (Act 34), Federal Criminal History (FBI – Fingerprinting - Act 114), Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Act 151), and Sexual Misconduct and Abuse Disclosures (Act 168).

$14.50 per hour + .20 shift differential
2nd shift - Day shift during summer months
