Located 22 miles from Chicago at 227 Heritage Quarries Drive in the southwestern suburb of Lemont, this park features a versatile and wide-ranging mix of recreation including the world’s largest aerial adventure course, designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind, along with archery, axe throwing, mountain biking, paddle sports, tactical laser tag, and more.

We’re looking for a maintenance professional to assist in the maintenance operations across the three focus areas:
Facilities, Grounds, and Activities.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing various preventative maintenance and improvement tasks throughout The Forge:
Lemont Quarries. The ideal candidate will be well versed in general maintenance tasks and be able to complete repairs in an efficient and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Participating in the hands‑on efforts of the maintenance team; successful candidates enjoy turning a wrench!
• Maintaining park facilities and completing work orders, including but not limited to woodwork, electrical, plumbing, and vehicle maintenance.
• Assisting the groundskeeper to clear trails and maintain the park.
• Prioritize tasks assigned from the Maintenance Manager to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the business
• Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues. Promptly notify management if unable to complete a required repair.
• Keeping maintenance logs and reports on daily activities
• Complying with all health and safety policies, and suggesting updates when necessary.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance and groundskeeping.
• Solid understanding of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
• Working knowledge of machines and equipment
• Ability to keep track of and report on work projects and activities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain equipment, facilities, and grounds in all weather conditions
• Experience as a machine operator or possession of a machine operator license(s) is desirable
• A high level of self‑awareness and receptivity to coaching
• Availability to work varied shifts inside and outside the park, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Energetic, creative, and passionate in the way you work and work with all staff to create a “bought‑in” culture that lives and breathes excellence in the everyday adventure
• Ability to pitch in at all levels; everyone at The Forge believes there is no room for a “not my job” attitude
• Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements
• Well‑versed in modern computing platforms and be proficient in using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
