Position: Full Time/Part Time Utility Aide

Apply now and become our newest team member! The Franciscan Village, a part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community in Lemont, Illinois.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs overall cleaning and sanitation of the department.
• Performs daily check of scheduled cleaning list and ensures areas and/or items are cleaned as specified.
• May perform other cleaning duties in the dining room or kitchen as assigned.
• Performs weekly drain cleaner treatment for all drains.
• Ensures all deliveries for dining services department are stored in the appropriate area in a timely manner. Must follow the first in/first out method when storing goods. All dented canned goods must be placed on the return shelf to ensure questionable items are not used.
• Ensures safe and sanitary processing of soiled dishes, silverware, glassware, and other related items through dishwashing system. Set up dishwashing area including filling the machine, turning on the heaters, filling equipment with proper cleaning compounds and rinse agents and arranging racks in an orderly fashion
• Scrapes, racks and pre-rinses all dishes and silverware according to established procedures.
• Cleans dish machine including tanks, catch trays and outside surfaces.
• Re-stocks all service ware in proper designated places. Refills dish machine for next meal. Cleans all counters around dish machine area.
• Cleans all carts and pours water into glasses for next shift.
• Empties trash to designated areas and cleans garbage cans on regular basis.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required skills and qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• On the job training provided, 1-2 years food service experience preferably in hospital or long-term care setting.
• Sanitation Certificate preferred
