Equistar Pipeline, Markham facility, is seeking a Maintenance I/E Technician to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be tasked to apply technical expertise daily to ensure the safe and reliable operation of site equipment and to reduce operating costs by executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities.

You will participate in reliability teams to identify and implement reliability-driven improvements and committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development.

• Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
• Provides technical expertise in the installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of unit equipment including:
  • Transformers, breakers and other power distribution equipment, motor starters, motors, MCC equipment, etc.
  • Level instruments, flow and pressure instruments, control valves, PLCs and other process and machinery control systems.
  • Maintenance to site process equipment
• Executes scheduled work by:
  • Reviewing assigned job scopes for completeness and understanding.
  • Acquiring all necessary parts, tools, and instructions prior to starting the job to maximize work efficiency.
  • Following all necessary safety procedures and practices to isolate, clear, and work on plant equipment.
  • Ensuring work is completed per company and industry standards.
  • Working with equipment owner to complete task in a safe and timely manner.
  • Updating supervisor on job progress and any problems encountered in completing the defined scope of work.
  • Completing all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system.
• Responds to tasks as directed by maintenance supervision with the appropriate sense of urgency to minimize impact to process units.
• Identifies and implements reliability-driven improvements. This may include participation in site reliability teams.
• Participates in committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development, and improving the workplace environment.
• Candidate will also be required to mentor other maintenance technicians when necessary.
• Successful candidate will be assigned a company vehicle for on-call role at MKO and remote sites. It is expected a good driving record will be maintained and all company vehicle rules and guidelines will be followed.
• Engages in frequent developmental dialog with supervisor and others to continually enhance personal and group performance and development.
• Promotes an environment in which everyone is treated with respect.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Typically, at least 10 years of maintenance experience required with both instrument and electrical crafts.
• Understanding of equipment design and application for various types of electrical and/or instrumentation: pressure, temperature, level and flow devices, transformers, motor starters,…
