Location: Scott Air Force Base
The Systems Administrator provides day-to-day systems administration, operations, and maintenance support for systems. This role supports classified and unclassified environments and works under the direction of senior systems administrators and government leads to ensure system availability, security compliance, and continuity of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day administration and technical support for HQ SDDC systems supporting business and operational missions
- Administer NIPR and SIPR Active Directory environments, including:
- Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and operation of Windows-based server platforms
- Support core services such as:
- DHCP configuration and IP scope maintenance
- SMTP services for system-generated email
- NAS/SAN storage administration (permissions, volumes, shares, replication, monitoring)
- Army account request processes (A365, AMHS, NPE as applicable)
- Monitor and resolve system administration trouble tickets in the government-provided ticketing system
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues within assigned areas
- Respond to incidents within required response times and escalate complex issues to senior staff as appropriate
- Provide on-site and on-call support during outages, contingencies, emergencies, and exercises
assist with management of system backup, restore, and recovery operations
- Support data replication to disaster recovery locations and verify successful daily replication
- Help ensure compliance with SDDC data protection and continuity policies
- Implement and maintain DISA STIGs for assigned systems
- Track vulnerabilities, support POA&M development, and assist with remediation efforts
- Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities by providing technical artifacts and system data
- Develop, update, and maintain system administration documentation
- Ensure documentation supports continuity of operations and audit readiness Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
or equivalent relevant experience
- This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI).
- Because an active DoD clearance is required, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- 3–6 years of systems administration experience in an enterprise or DoD environment
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows Server and Active Directory
- Experience working in secure or regulated IT environments preferred
