Pepper Construction Group is looking for a proactive, relationship‑driven Human Resources Manager who thrives in a role where they own the full spectrum of HR— from strategic partnership to everyday execution. This individual contributor role is perfect for someone who enjoys being embedded in the business, building trust with leaders, and rolling up their sleeves to make things happen.
In this role, you’ll support our teams by delivering thoughtful talent solutions, driving engagement, ensuring operational excellence, and helping shape an exceptional employee experience across Pepper.

What You’ll Do Talent & Performance Management- Lead performance cycles, talent reviews, and succession planning
- Equip leaders with tools and insights to build and develop strong teams
- Partner with leaders on staffing strategies and hiring decisions
- Own a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience from start to finish
- Drive engagement initiatives—surveys, feedback loops, team-building
- Translate insights into meaningful action that strengthens culture and retention
- Conduct workplace investigations and guide leaders through complex decisions
- Ensure alignment with policies, laws, and best practices
- Identify development needs and support training programs
- Promote continuous learning across teams
- Serve as the on‑the‑ground HR partner for compensation, benefits, HRIS, and more
- Maintain accurate records, data integrity, and compliance documentation
- Support DEI initiatives, early talent programs, and community engagement efforts
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required
- 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist or HRBP experience
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification preferred
- Strong grounding in recruiting, performance management, employee relations, and employment law
- Exceptional communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment and balance both strategic and tactical work
- Construction industry experience a plus
The midpoint salary for this position is $125,000. We consider many factors when determining actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
