Clinical Informaticist - Information Technology
JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for planning, developing, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the EHR system. This role is critical to supporting the modernization and optimization of health information technology systems.
- The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for planning, developing, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the EHR system.
- Utilize Healthcare and IT experience to design, modify, and develop our organization’s computerized systems, keeping them running efficiently, effectively, and securely.
- Manage system workflows, data integrations, and analysis to drive system adoption, streamline processes, and align opportunities for improvement.
- Proactively assess risk(s) associated with clinical workflows that impact all stakeholders.
- Analyze, Validate, and optimize reports and dashboards that will support the ongoing operational oversight for the various solutions and service areas.
- Facilitate communication between the IT team, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Work within user interfaces to store and evaluate patient and organizational data.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware problems via helpdesk to ensure patient care runs smoothly.
- Review existing systems and suggest improvements.
- Documentation and review of progress regularly reporting to IT Director.
- Perform User and Provider onboarding/offboarding to the EHR and auxiliary systems.
- Change Control Coordination and Management for EHR.
- On Call rotation support required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master’s degree or advanced certification in Clinical Informatics, Health Informatics, or related discipline is required.
- Five years’ recent experience as a patient-facing Registered Nurse (RN) is required upon hire.
- Five years of progressive experience in a clinical setting, clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or a related healthcare operations role, with a proven history of leading clinical informatics initiatives, including system design, implementation, optimization, and support, is preferred.
- Experienced in collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical teams to align health IT systems with patient care needs, with demonstrated success in managing EHR/EMR implementations or optimizations is preferred.
- Must maintain all state-required licenses and meet all continuing education requirements for Registered Nurses.
