The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences is a top‑tier department with world‑renowned faculty and staff. The Department invites applications for an education‑track Assistant/Associate rank position in the Division of Public Health Sciences.
The Public Health Program is a CEPH‑accredited graduate program offering the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with seven concentrations: biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental public health, global health, health education and health promotion, health services and management, and occupational public health. The program also offers an MD‑MPH and Pharm
D‑MPH track. The newly hired faculty will have opportunities to collaborate with public health community partners and leading health systems.
- Teach public health courses at the graduate level in areas such as health services, health systems, population health, environmental health, qualitative methods, and policy or other relevant topics as needed.
- Advise and mentor students in academic development and achievement as well as in applied practical experience and integrated learning experiences.
- Assist with MPH curriculum development, innovation, continuous quality improvement, program assessment, and program involvement with professional societies through service.
- Collaborate with MPH faculty and leadership to ensure program success, student satisfaction, and alignment with workforce needs.
- Participate in MPH program meetings, accreditation preparation, strategic planning, and departmental service activities.
- Establish, implement, and uphold MPH policies to ensure effective delivery and management of all assigned courses and program activities.
- Undertake other duties assigned from the MPH program.
- Doctoral degree (e.g., DrPH, PhD, or equivalent) in the public health field or a related field such as public health, health policy, health behavior, health services, and health economics and finance.
- Prior graduate teaching experience in public health.
- Prior experience in advising and mentoring graduate students.
- Applied practice in governmental public health with experience in healthcare systems as it relates to public health, public health FQHC, or within the public health clinical setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with public health policy especially where public health and healthcare delivery intersect.
