Senior Recruitment Specialist at American Academy of DermatologyThe American Academy of Dermatology is seeking a Senior Manager, Health Policy & Payment to manage the Academy’s health policy and regulatory issues related to benefit coverage and payment for dermatological services by payers (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, VA, commercial insurance, and employer-based plans) on issues including but not limited to drug pricing and drug access/formulary development by payers, lab services, and dermatopathology.
Conduct outreach strategy for engagement with payers as well as external coalitions. Responsible for contributing to the development and coordination of advocacy initiatives to influence federal regulatory policy, employer benefit plan design, and representing the AADA and the Advocacy and Policy Department to external and internal audiences. Responsible for monitoring and analyzing proposed benefit plan regulations, policies, and emerging issues, assessing their respective impact on the Academy’s initiatives and goals, and communicating relevant information to leadership, staff, and others within the organization and external to the organization, as necessary to achieve goals.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and implementation of AADA’s practice advocacy related to access to dermatologists and payment for dermatological services by payers (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, VA, commercial insurance, and employer-based plans) on issues including but not limited to digital health, drug access, lab services, and dermatopathology. This includes serving as AADA content expert on issue portfolio including recommending strategies for AADA policy positions and action items, facilitating physician review and input process for providing guidance to employers, benefit plan consultants and their related associations and representing the AADA at meetings and conferences related to issue portfolio.
- Manage employer-based outreach with a focus on conveying the value of dermatologists and advocating for policies that facilitate the delivery of quality dermatologic care. Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts within the employer and benefit plan consultant arena, including business groups on health and employer associations/coalitions. This may also include engaging with patient advocacy groups impacted by policies that impede access to dermatologic services and drugs.
Maintain network with other health and medical organizations and coalitions that address employer advocacy. - Provide staff assistance to the DermCAC, including but not limited to, facilitating the review of Medicare coverage determinations and articles impacting dermatology, coordinating meetings and calls, and developing comment letters.
