Resident Assistant (Night Shift, Full-time)

About the job: In this role, you will help our residents maintain a sense of independence and vitality by aiding them in daily tasks that are challenging for them. You will always put the residents' needs and safety first and work to provide a warm and caring environment. You will report to the Commons Manager and help residents with daily tasks ranging from hygiene and mobility to household duties.

The shift is an overnight shift from 6pm to 6am.

• Assists residents with daily living activities.
• Serves residents three meals daily in dining area
• Responsible for cleaning dining room after each meal.
• Changes linens weekly and distributes towels daily.
• Reminds residents to take medications at proper time.
• Assists residents as needed to ancillary services (i.e., Lab, X-rays, Physical Therapy) in Hopedale Medical Complex.
• If the resident has a problem, the floor assistant will report the problem to the administrator.
• The assistant will be “on call” in the event a resident needs a medical assistant.
• Keeps a daily record of resident activity/problems.
• Maintains the floors in the dining area.
• If required, the assistant will provide “wake-up call for a resident.
• Sends medication trays to medication area on a weekly basis to be refilled.
• Answers the phone in the absence of the unit secretary.
• Provide compassionate yet professional companionship and conversation.
• Monitor and report any concerning changes in residents' behavior or condition
