Responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. Assists residents with activities of daily living, offers personal care, comfort, and support, and maintains a safe and clean environment for all residents.
Shift and CompensationShift: 10:00pm - 6:00am with weekend and holiday rotation
Starting pay based on experience: $17.79 per hour
Responsibilities- Accompany residents to appointments, meals, and social activities.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, ambulating, repositioning, etc.).
- Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including preparing rooms, completing inventory checklists, taking vital signs and weights, and completing CNA education checklists.
- Document and report residents' conditions, complaints of pain, changes in status, refusals of care, adverse reactions, behaviors, etc.
- Lift and turn residents using proper body mechanics and available resources, following transfer orders.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment, including changing bed linens, cleaning overbed and bedside tables, and taking out trash.
- Maintain equipment, utility rooms, supply rooms, and kitchenette cleanliness, and manage soiled linen carts.
- Manage oxygen concentrators and tanks, notifying the appropriate personnel when needed.
- Conduct rounds with outgoing and incoming shifts to ensure the unit is in good condition.
- Meet residents' nutritional needs by setting up trays, assisting with eating, providing bedtime snacks, and offering fluids regularly.
- Perform daily hygiene tasks, including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, peri care, Foley care, nail care, grooming, and assisting with glasses, dentures, and hearing aids.
- Provide skin care, prevent skin breakdowns, and turn and reposition residents every 2 hours or more often as needed.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights and other assistance indicators, following through to meet residents' needs.
- Take and record vital signs and other measurements, and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Either a CNA certification or completion of the first semester of an RN program.
Estimated range: $17.79 - $27.57 per hour, based on experience.
