Counterintelligence Analyst

We invite qualified candidates to apply to the Counterintelligence Analyst. This in this role, you can expect to:

• Serves as the Mid-Level Counterintelligence (CI) Analyst, responsible for all-source CI analysis in support of the Argonne CI Program, with expertise in the broad field of counterintelligence research and analysis.
• Conducts all analytical activities, including research, analysis, and preparation of a variety of strategic intelligence products individually or as a member of an analytical team.
• Independently devises innovative methods for screening and synthesizing large volumes of information from various sources, ensuring the validity, accuracy, and reliability of the data to produce intelligence products and reports relevant to the CI mission.
• Prepares a diverse range of analytical products that clearly and coherently communicate the significance and implications of CI issues and developments.
• Prepares and presents intelligence briefings to Laboratory management and personnel, as well as DOE Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence and U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) partners.
• Assesses threats, incidents, and incoming intelligence reports, analyzing their nature to independently develop conclusions, findings, and judgments that are defensible and make recommendations on important counterintelligence matters.
• Supports other CI Program initiatives under the direction of the Senior CI Officer (SCIO), Deputy SCIO, or the Intelligence Program Manager.
• Attends counterintelligence training as needed.

• PA3:
  Minimum Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience serving as an intelligence analyst in a USIC organization OR at least 3 years of comparable work experience that includes:
  Conducting research, writing summary findings, judgments, or conclusions, supporting other DOE missions (including the National Nuclear Security Administration), other relevant experience as deemed acceptable.

• Applicants should be graduates of a formal intelligence analysis training or certification course. Examples of acceptable courses include:
• Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Analysis 101 and Analysis 201.
• Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Professional Analyst Career Education (PACE).
• FBI New Intelligence Analyst Training.
• FLETC Investigative Analysis for Law Enforcement.
• U.S. Army All-Source Intelligence Analyst (35F) Course.
• Other relevant analysis training as deemed acceptable.

• Knowledge of the laws, practices, philosophies, methodologies, and programs within the CI field to understand the relevance and value of data and maximize its use.
• Advanced knowledge of USIC-standard research and analytical tradecraft methodologies and approaches.
• Knowledge of global political, economic, social, cultural, scientific, geographic, fiscal, and military conditions to evaluate information considering the current international environment.
• Practical experience with the principles, practices, and methodology in the collection, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of national security information.
• Knowledge and familiarity with the DOE CI order and authorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as set and adhere to deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility to adapt as priorities change.

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in international or political science, sciences, or foreign language studies.
