Duties Help
* You will serve as the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA) performing essential victim advocacy and support duties within the Navy or Marine Corps command, base, or installation (tactical level).
* You will provide non-clinical response that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented, and without prejudice to adult victims of sexual assault.
* You will accept official reports of sexual assault by assisting the victim in completing the applicable forms, taking sensitive care of handling personally identifiable information, as well as covered communications.
* You will conduct mandatory risk screening protocols to address immediate risk and safety concerns.
* You will assist victims in securing medical treatment for physical and psychological injuries; safe shelter; protective orders; support before, during, and after trials; and any other services requested.
* You will inform victims of the resources available for reporting instances of sexual assault related retaliation, reprisal, ostracism, maltreatment, sexual harassment, or to request a transfer.
* You will provide comprehensive referrals to on-installation and off-installation resources to include victim advocacy, legal, and medical/mental healthcare.
* You will maintain up-to-date case files, ensuring compliance with legal, privacy, and organizational policies and victim advocacy professional standards.
* You will facilitate the planning, scheduling, and delivery of SAPR training covering SAPR policies, procedures, reporting options, and other pertinent topics.
* You will assist the SARC with developing SAPR public awareness campaigns and community outreach efforts, including planning local events for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM).

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an active D-SAACP certification in accordance with Section 584 of Public Law 112-81 and DoD Instruction (DoDI) 6495.03, and any subsequent policy updates applicable to this program.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; may not have a disqualifying condition as listed in DoDI 6495.03, and any subsequent policy updates applicable to this program.
* You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
* Must be able to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays, in an on-call or rotational basis.
* The on-call or rotational status requires varied work hours, to include a requirement to be available 24/7.
* Must be able to respond to the following but not limited to: calls received via the helpline, from miliatry/civilian law enforcement, from treatment facilities or local hospitals.
* Occasional travel outside the local area may be required, up to 25% for meetings, training, or other program related events, or needs. Qualifications GS-11 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing sexual assault advocacy services; developing and implementing crisis plan of actions and sexual assault assistance plans; assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events; and conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars.
