Police Officer Position; Lateral

Full‑Time Police Officer Position (Lateral or Recently Retired)

The Village of Kenilworth Police Department is recruiting lateral or recently retired candidates who are highly qualified, mature‑minded individuals to complement our police department. Candidates must be of good moral character, demonstrate sound judgment, and be sensitive to the needs of the community.

• Must be eligible to obtain an Illinois FOID card
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be of good moral character
• Must possess State of Illinois certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) or be eligible for re‑certification
• Prior to final appointment, applicant must also pass the following:
• Background investigation / psychological evaluation
• Medical examination / drug screen
• Credit check

• 401(a) defined contribution plan with 7% employer contribution (must meet State eligibility requirements)
• Paid vacation, holiday and sick time
