VP of Finance (Direct Hire)
PEG Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a strategic, hands-on VP of Finance for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established construction company. This executive-level role will lead all financial operations and serve as a key member of the leadership team.
The VP of Finance will partner closely with ownership, project managers, and department leaders to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and long-term strategic alignment. This is the top finance role within the organization and offers the opportunity to make a significant business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and year-end close; prepare accurate consolidated financial statements
- Oversee WIP reporting, backlog analysis, and job closeouts
- Develop annual budgets with department leaders and provide variance analysis and strategic insights
- Manage cash flow, intercompany transactions, and tax payments
- Oversee AP/AR processes including billing, collections, lien tracking, and aging
- Partner with HR to oversee payroll, tax deadlines, and benefits compliance
- Review contracts, change orders, bonding, insurance, and permits to mitigate risk
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Align financial operations with company goals and support key strategic initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 7+ years of finance leadership experience
- 3-5 years of experience in construction or multi-entity environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, WIP accounting, payroll, tax, and ERP systems
- Experience managing comprehensive insurance programs is a plus
- Proven leadership, communication, and analytical skills
