Title: Cash Application Specialist
Location
:
Aurora, Illinois (Hybrid)
Assignment Type: 3- month contract with potential for extensions
Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

Must be located in the Chicagoland area!!
Job Responsibilities- Accurately apply daily customer payments including ACH, wire transfers, lockbox, and checks
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, over payments, and deductions
- Match payments to open invoices using remittance advice and customer portals
- Post and balance daily cash receipts to bank statements and general ledger
- Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain detailed documentation and aging notes for audit and reporting purposes
- Support month-end close by reconciling cash and AR accounts
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Assist with process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in cash posting
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUM-IFS)
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
