The Plant Controller will lead the Coal City location operations finance functions, including financial statement preparation and balance sheet oversight. This role is also responsible for all business planning and analysis and will partner with Operations and the Business Unit on all business issues and provide necessary analysis for decision making.

Key Responsibility:
  • Own monthly close process and explanation of monthly financial performance for locations and coordinate with Corporate Accounting to ensure that costs are recorded accurately.
  • Own monthly Balance Sheet review to ensure that all balances are appropriate and are reconciled on a monthly basis. Ensure that internal controls are in place and participate in year-end audits.
  • Lead in the preparation of monthly financial reporting, analysis, and presentations for review with Plant/Finance leadership.
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and communicate cost trends and business issues.
  • Participate in the development, measurement, and reporting of key business metrics across all areas of the business.
  • Lead annual budget and business forecasting processes.
  • Assist in the development of capital projects, including project justification and post implementation reporting.
  • Conduct regular analysis of inventory levels and Days on Hand; review SLOB inventory and ensure appropriate reserve.
  • Provide ad hoc support for operations or the Business Unit.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management required. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience required and 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry.
  • Must have strong technical and analytical skills with a solid cost accounting background.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and an ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make solid, objective, ethical decisions.
  • Ease in communicating and business partnering with all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with PCs, financial spreadsheets, and ERP systems (working with SAP and COGNOS a plus).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • CMA or CPA a plus.
Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $140,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
