Description/Job Summary

The Loan Process Specialist serves in the Field Operations Department and reports to a Regional Manager. This role acts as the “Deal Champion” for loans and ensures timely and accurate processing of loans originated by Lending AVP/VP and RM. The Loan Process Specialist participates in several stages of the credit lifecycle for all relevant loans, including gathering and organizing pre-underwriting documents, maintaining electronic files, completing loan due diligence, reviewing loan documentation, coordinating loan closings, and preparing loans for booking in the loan origination system.

Responsibilities/Duties

Qualification of Loan Credit Package

  • Supports pre-qualification activities by gathering prospect or member information, including licenses, financials, scope of operations, and entity documentation
  • Assess qualitative and quantitative business and financial information in coordination with the Lending AVP/VP or RM; follow-up for clarification as needed
  • Review members’ trust agreements, articles of organization, and operating agreement to ensure the right to borrow, pledge, and mortgage
  • Input relevant loan information into LOS
  • Submit loan in LOS to CSD and serve as the Deal Champion on all submitted loans by responding to internal and external inquiries
  • Assist in following Territorial Concurrence procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance

Loan Processing & Document Preparation

  • Obtain signatures for notices of approval or statements of credit denial as required
  • Complete initial interest rate lock in LOS and monitor rate lock commitments
  • Coordinate fraud alert verifications with Lending AVP/VP or RM
  • Lead FLCA-related processing activities, including collecting collateral information and coordinating with appraisers
  • Review and process FHA/FLCA closing documents with Compeer and Title Company communications
  • Coordinate, schedule, and prepare closing instructions and related documents
  • Review PCA closing instructions and loan documents for accuracy and request modifications as needed
  • Gather loan-related documents and prepare for PCA loan closing

Non-Traditional Loan Processing

  • Lead Farm Service Agency (FSA) loan processing and documentation
