Structural Steel Checker

This is a full-time, on-site Structural Steel Checker position located in Arthur, IL. In this role, you will check structural steel models, shop drawings, and erection drawings to make sure they match customer contract drawings and specifications. You will also help make sure all work follows IBC and AISC standards.

The Structural Steel Checker will work closely with detailers and project managers to make sure drawings are accurate and to help fix any design problems. You will also help keep project documents organized and make sure deadlines are met.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and structural detailing designs
• Experience with quality assurance processes and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams
• Familiarity with relevant geometric calculations and structural strength standards
• Experience with AutoCAD and SDS
• Problem-solving abilities to resolve discrepancies and ensure project accuracy
• Previous experience in the steel fabrication industry is preferred
