The Village is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced engineer who enjoys rewarding work with a wide range of job responsibilities in a well-established community. This is a full-time job, scheduled for 40 hours per week.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe position is responsible for delivering skilled engineering and administrative services for a wide variety of municipal projects, including capital improvement work and annual improvement programs. The position completes review of proposed development plans — from single-family property improvements to larger planned development projects — and works to ensure plans comply with the Village’s adopted codes, regulations and ordinances. Manages consulting contracts, coordination, and invoicing for Village-led improvement projects.
Interfaces with the public and other Village Departments relative to engineering issues and works with the Village’s communications team to share information relative to construction projects.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university;
Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience in a municipal and/or municipal consulting environment;
Lake County Enforcement Officer Certificate (or obtain within six (6) months);
Professional Engineer’s Certificate (or obtain within one (1) year of hire) preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
The full salary range is $84,460 – $132,952, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
