The Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for a Senior Engineer within our Aftertreatment & Exhaust Systems (AT&ES) performance engineering team. This role will give you the opportunity to help customers meet local air board emission by creating new and innovative aftertreatment design solutions. With your help, our products will continue to significantly reduce harmful diesel and gas engine exhaust emissions.

This role will be responsible for identifying customer solutions (DTO) outside of traditional NPI. It is responsible for understanding system interactions that will enable our solutions to both meet Caterpillar requirements and customer deliverables. This position will work closely with the end customer and dealers to gather requirements and collaborates on designs. It will work closely with product groups, EP, Marine, O&G to deliver a quality product in a timely manner at the lowest possible cost, while delivering customer value.

In this role, the Senior Engineer also works closely with AT&ES performance engineers to understand performance tradeoffs. This role is critical for the execution of high value DTO projects and supplying quotations development for custom or new designs. Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.

• Collaborate with customers and leadership to scope and execute projects that meet the needs of the business
• Accountable for delivering timely, high-quality simulation and analysis impacting products/processes and providing clear recommendations to stakeholders
• Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain and test to robustly deliver new products and improve validation processes
• Keep up-to-date on new technologies and drive continuous improvement to established techniques

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Material Science, Chemistry, or closely related curriculum.
