We offer a wide range of career opportunities across a variety of commercial, technical, and business roles worldwide.

Join our team and help solve our customers’ toughest challenges.

About the Role:

As a Marine Mechanical Systems Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for the physical configuration, mechanical design, and system‑level integration of Cat Marine hybrid applications. You will execute the engineering work required to integrate traditional propulsion machinery—such as engines, gearboxes, transmissions, and clutches. Also, in scope is the mechanical design and integration of advanced hybrid components at the system level for the Cat scope and the integration into the vessel.

This role focuses on the detailed delivery of integrated mechanical packages, ensuring every solution is engineered for high performance, and seamless vessel integration and installation.

What Will You Do:
  • Vessel Performance Simulation & Modeling: Define and execute technical requirements for vessel performance modeling. You will define requirements and support the team developing simulations to evaluate performance optimization of engines and transmissions, hybrid duty cycles, fuel consumption, and energy flow, ensuring the mechanical and electrical system architecture meets the specific operational profile of the vessel.

  • Total System Packaging: Execute the mechanical layout and structural integration of the complete Cat Marine scope. This includes the engines, gensets, electric motors, switch gear, and battery energy storage systems (ESS).

  • Driveline & Power Transfer: Perform the detailed mechanical integration of marine propulsion engines and transmissions, hybrid drive lines, focusing on the interface between diesel engines and electric motors via transmissions, clutches, and PTO/PTI gearboxes.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Prepare technical submittals and design documentation to ensure all mechanical and hybrid integrations meet Classification Society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register). You will ensure designs comply with USCG requirements for machinery and electrical installations.

  • Techno‑Economic Analysis: Support the sales process by performing value‑based benchmarking. You will analyze how specific mechanical configurations and simulated performance data affect a vessel operator’s CAPEX and OPEX, providing the technical data needed to recommend the most efficient solution.

  • Full‑Lifecycle Engineering: Manage the day‑to‑day engineering tasks for assigned projects from concept through validation. Deliver high‑precision 3D models (Creo), 2D drawings (AutoCAD), P&IDs, and integrated drawings that facilitate the physical installation of machinery and electrical distribution hardware.

Education & Experience Requirements :
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical discipline.

  • Professional Expertise: Proven experience in the design and mechanical integration of marine propulsion drive lines, gearboxes, transmissions, and vessel performance analysis.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Simulation Proficiency: Experience using simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or proprietary vessel modeling tools) to predict…
