We are looking for a dynamic, organized self‑starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Material Planning Analyst in Mossville, IL.

The Material Planning Analyst is responsible for scheduling, planning, and oversight of material procurement, production, and delivery.
Additional Info- This role is located in Mossville, IL and does not offer relocation
- This role is 1st shift
- This role is 100% on‑site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules
- This role requires up to 5% domestic travel
- Accountable for coordinating the release, ordering, and procurement of all prove design material, including production parts, attachments and test engines
- Receive requirements for prove design parts from the design section via Web Prove Design (WPD) and engineering order forms
- Discuss requirements with the engineering design personnel to obtain mutual agreement on such things as date and quantity required, material availability or material substitutions, design requirements and design changes to facilitate manufacturing, and supplier capabilities
- Maintain close and continuous contact with suppliers, both outside and at Caterpillar facilities
- Analyze an average of 300 of the 600 WPD orders on a monthly basis. Responsible for following material to the Prove Design Crib and instruct the crib personnel regarding the correct disbursement in and out of the crib
- Responsible for the movement of the material to the end user, including scheduling the necessary transportation and for coordination to get related installation material routed to the appropriate location for testing in a field environment.
- Arrange for and/or deliver new or additional parts as needed. The material could move to another supplier, inspection hold area, the field or the Met Lab, moving many times prior to going to the end user
- Each analyst is responsible for a different engineering product client. Value is added through knowing what to do to make the process work efficiently and knowing how to handle situations where the process will not yield the result
- Also works with Purchasing and Manufacturing to discuss problems related to timely procurement of parts and materials. Problems may be of a technical nature relating to projects (e.g. can a part be manufactured within the company; can a supplier furnish the parts quicker and/or less expensive, etc.) They will consider the machine burden involved and where available, tooling required, supplier capabilities, lead‑time, short lead‑time orders, past‑due orders and print/engineering drawing…
