- Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

The Electrification & Energy Solutions Division is looking for a Senior Engineering Project Team Lead – System Integration that will be part of the E+ES System Solutions – Power & Energy team with accountability for integrating batteries, motors, inverters, power converters, and associated control systems into electrified powertrain solutions.
This person will work with our Power and Energy Industry Segments to define and execute the enterprise strategy for Electrification. This will include working with each of the Power and Energy industry segments to define the opportunities for market growth and product development needs. In addition, this person will work with system architects and simulation experts to define electrified powertrain architecture concepts, execute system evaluations and optimizations, and complete trade‑off assessments on attributes such as performance, energy efficiency, customer Total Cost of Ownership, and R&D timeline / investment.
The candidate will support product development activities, providing technical leadership for concept studies, technical demonstrators, commercial demonstrators, and New Technology and New Product development programs. This person will define and support validation of full electrification solutions and electric drive solutions for our Power and Energy customers as they develop products and solutions to meet their goals.
What you will do:- Interface and respond to internal and external customer inquiries utilizing Lean Startup discipline to rapidly explore identification and development of sustainable products for electrification.
- Lead teams to develop system solutions and implementation of key electric power train projects for targeted markets in Defense and Military, Marine, Industrial, Electric Power, and Oil and Gas applications.
- Lead and effectively manage the development of high voltage system design and integration as it applies to power trains.
- Collaborate with component teams for current and future component solutions and applications including electric and or mechanical drivetrain systems, motor and generator systems, power electronic systems, power conversion systems and controls.
- Coach and mentor other team members in the power train systems solutions group.
- Assist in directing work for the co‑op and ERD staff.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Technical Excellence: Extensive experience with Product development (NPI, NTI, CPI) specifically in performance, simulation and controls at machine, system, or component level. Includes advising others, engaging subject matter resources, mentoring, coaching, providing solutions to moderate technical challenges, and owning technical performance.
