AboutThe Role
As a Civil CAD Technician, you’ll play a key role in creating accurate 2D basemaps and plan sheets that power gas distribution and transmission projects. Using GIS exports, aerial imagery, survey data, and other sources, you’ll produce drawing sets that meet project requirements and adhere to established drafting standards—including symbols, line types, text styles, and annotations.
What You’ll Do- Collaborate with engineers and designers to clarify project scope and resolve issues.
- Create precision basemaps using AutoCAD and industry standards.
- Apply redline processes to ensure compliance with drafting guidelines.
- Contribute to innovation by helping develop CAD standards and best practices.
- Gain real‑world insight through quarterly field visits.
- Support the team with additional assignments that drive success.
- Entry‑Level Talent: 0–2 years of drafting experience preferred.
- CAD Knowledge:
Proficiency in AutoCAD or completion of CAD coursework. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity with utility drafting, base mapping, and design principles. - Bonus Points:
AutoCAD certification and understanding of underground utilities, gas distribution, and power delivery.
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

This is a permanent position based out of Naperville, IL.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $18.00 – $24.00 /hr.
