Job Description
Summary:
The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use. A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
- Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
- Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
- Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
- Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.
- Develop systems to test new NPI components or test field return ECMs, Displays, and Sensors.
Typical task breakdown: Work in a team environment to identify test cases, test all aspects of the product like function, performance, regression; set up test environments, design test plans, develop test cases/scenarios/use cases, and execute these cases. Run tests correctly and consistently.
Interaction with team: Work closely with the design team to develop and perform the required test activities.
Work environment: Fully on-site.
Candidate RequirementsYears of experience: 5-7 years required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required, preference in computer or electronics engineering.
- Related BS or MS projects or internships considered if durations are included.
- Related Associate’s Degree with an additional two years’ experience (seven years minimum) considered.
- PhD holders would be considered overqualified and will be declined.
Required:
- Experience with lab equipment – Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Operational Amplifiers.
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) tool/process.
- Experience with Failure Mode Effect & Root Cause Analysis (FMEA) process.
- Good documentation and presentation skills using MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desired: Knowledge and experience with connectivity/telematics technologies; experience with operating systems: MS Windows 7/8/10, UNIX, Ubuntu;
Canalyzer.
Required: Good interpersonal and collaboration skills; attention to details; ability to work in a team as well as individually; ability to work under pressure and maintain deadlines; self‑starter; communicate technical information effectively.

Compensation$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
