B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer – Permanent (Line & Heavies)
Our client is a leading aviation engineering organisation delivering complex maintenance solutions for helicopter fleets operating in high-integrity environments, with a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and operational reliability.
The RoleOur client is seeking Licensed Aircraft Engineers (B1.3) to join their permanent engineering teams in Aberdeen, across both Line Maintenance and Heavies (Base Maintenance) operations. The positions involve carrying out and certifying maintenance activities to ensure aircraft airworthiness and compliance with approved maintenance standards.
Within Line Engineering, consideration may be given to candidates holding an A Licence, whereas roles within the Heavies business require a full CAA B1.3 Licence, with no flexibility for A Licence holders.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and certify aircraft maintenance including scheduled inspections, MODs, and defect rectification
Oversee and certify work completed by unlicensed and specialist trades (Heavies)
Maintain airworthiness and maintenance standards
Issue certifications within the scope of authorisation
Report incidents or lapses in quality
Key RequirementsCAA B1.3 Licence (role dependent as outlined above)
Relevant helicopter maintenance experience
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within small teams
Good IT skills and adaptability to new systems
Must have the current right to work in the UK without sponsorship
Skills & Experience Roster PatternsAberdeen-based roster options include 4 on / 4 off, 6 on / 4 off, 4 on / 6 off, with potential for Mon–Fri or 14/14 patterns, working 11-hour shifts.
