Design Estimator

Join our team as a Design Estimator at Nucor Corporation.

• Location: El Paso, IL, United States
• Base Salary Range: $57,449 - $76,980
• Bonus: Annual bonuses; 20.7% of eligible earnings

• Design & Estimating:
  Create accurate, thorough, and competitive pre‑sale designs and estimates for building systems.
• Customer Communication:
  Provide clear verbal and written communication with customers and teammates.
• Proposal Development:
  Receive and clarify quote requests, ensuring all project details are incorporated.
• Customer Service & Division Goals:
  Support American Buildings service practices, customer needs, and division objectives.
• Code & Product Knowledge:
  Apply knowledge of current building codes to design building elements and maintain understanding of AB‑IL products.
• Drawing Interpretation:
  Review and interpret project drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment.
• Value Engineering:
  Assist customers in identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Time & Quality Management:
  Deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Travel:
  Travel as necessary to support customers and project requirements.
• Safety:
  Initiate and uphold safety policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of Pre‑Engineered Metal Building experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or related field.
• Ability to read, understand, and comprehend Architectural, Structural, and Mechanical project drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and 2‑dimensional drawing software.

• 2+ years of Pre‑Engineered Metal Building Design, Detailing, or Estimating experience.
• Working knowledge of pre‑engineered metal building systems.
• Functional knowledge of EQuote, NBG Design Tools, Access, Tekla, or Proge
  
  CAD.
• College Degree in Construction related field.
