Building Services Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced, intermediate level Building Services Design Engineer who is located within a 30 minute commute to the office.
Place of Work: Hartley Wintney, Hampshire
Hours of Work: 40 hours a week (0830 to 1700)
Holidays: 20 days + bank holidays
Contract: Permanent

- Meeting with clients and design teams to determine HVAC and other mechanical applications and requirements.
- Carrying out site surveys to determine requirements and to price tenders and other quotations for installation works with varying degrees of design requirements.
- Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
- Documenting the design process.
- Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
- Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
- Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
- Present proposals to clients and external project team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in building services engineering with strong HVAC bias.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a building services design engineer.
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Attentive to detail and critically minded.
- The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
- Exceptional problem-solving and math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using common design software, such as AutoCAD etc.
- Project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent command of English language – written and verbal.
- Organisation and effective time management.
- In-depth knowledge of industry design principles.
- Domestic hot and cold water including boosted and tank supplies.
- Low temperature heating.
- Air source and Ground source heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
- General supply and extract mechanical ventilation.
- Natural and mixed mode ventilation.
- Air conditioning duct systems with humidification.
- Gas and oil fired boiler plant.
- Variable refrigerant flow direct expansion cooling and heat pump systems.
- Automatic control and building management systems.
