Building Services Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced, intermediate level Building Services Design Engineer who is located within a 30 minute commute to the office.

Place of Work: Hartley Wintney, Hampshire
Hours of Work: 40 hours a week (0830 to 1700)
Holidays: 20 days + bank holidays

• Meeting with clients and design teams to determine HVAC and other mechanical applications and requirements.
• Carrying out site surveys to determine requirements and to price tenders and other quotations for installation works with varying degrees of design requirements.
• Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
• Documenting the design process.
• Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
• Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
• Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
• Present proposals to clients and external project team members.

• Bachelor’s degree in building services engineering with strong HVAC bias.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a building services design engineer.
• Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Attentive to detail and critically minded.
• The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
• Exceptional problem-solving and math skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using common design software, such as AutoCAD etc.
• Project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent command of English language – written and verbal.
• Organisation and effective time management.
• In-depth knowledge of industry design principles.
