Position

Summary

Operations & Maintenance Supervisor plans and coordinates the activities of technicians engaged in the inspection, maintenance and repair of peaking power plant equipment such as gas turbine engines, generators, diesel engines, air compressors, water treatment systems, motors, and pumps by performing the following duties.

Reports To: Plant Superintendent

Work Location: 4646 White Walnut Rd., Pinckneyville, Illinois 62274

Pay Range: $50.00/hour – $60.00/hour

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide for the training of and supervise a roving team of mechanical and instrument/electrical technicians
  • Ensure the safe and timely completion of all preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Plan and schedule routine, emergent, regulatory compliance and planned outage tasks in accordance with plant contracts, ERCOT and other requirements as applicable
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of maintenance activities in the plant CMMS and outage reports
  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Direct workers in electrical, controls and mechanical maintenance and repair of plant equipment
  • Generate and/or review purchase orders for parts and services, ensuring budgetary constraints are maintained
  • Identify and optimize proactive maintenance techniques to improve reliability of assets
  • Execute and document effective root‑cause analysis and oversee the implementation of corrective actions
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety programs and regulations
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, specifications, drawings, control logic and P&/F&IDs to aid in troubleshooting and execution of repairs
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve reliability and equipment performance
  • Identify and implement changes in work procedures and use of equipment to increase efficiency
  • Perform activities of workers supervised as needed
  • Supervise all preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure it is completed in accordance with technical manual procedures and sound engineering principles
  • Recommend, maintain and secure adequate spare parts inventory
  • Be capable to operate equipment locally when needed
  • After‑hour call out to the site as required
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience; or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience
  • 5 years of LM6000 plant experience required
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work‑authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc.
  • Must be willing to accept call‑outs to the site when needed.
  • Ability to interface with customers
