Duties
Cerro Gordo Jr/Sr High School is seeking a passionate and student-centered High School Social Studies Teacher for the school year. The ideal candidate will engage students in meaningful exploration of social sciences while fostering critical thinking, civic awareness, and real-world connections. This position includes teaching a variety of courses, such as Civics, World History, American History, and History Electives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
* Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate High School Social Science endorsement(s), or the ability to obtain them.
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to fostering student engagement, academic achievement, and responsible citizenship.
Salary/Benefits
Minimum starting salary with pension benefits is $46,791.
