Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in learning behavior specialist 1 (LSB1) or equivalent.
Performance Responsibilities- Demonstrate support for the mission, beliefs, and goals of MSD
114 - Provide direct instruction in academic and/or functional skill areas to students with disabilities in a resource or inclusive setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs in accordance with IDEA and ISBE regulations
- Modify curriculum and adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and ensure student access to the general education curriculum
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including IEPs, progress reports, and documentation of services
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, concerns, and goals
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and professional learning communities
- Support implementation of behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports, when applicable
- Maintain compliance with timelines and procedures for evaluation, eligibility, and service delivery
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in special education
- Assumes responsibility for other duties as may be assigned by director of special education or the building principal
