Morrison High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our team. We are committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where all students are challenged, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Position SummaryThe Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student growth and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and IEP development
- Experience with co-teaching and differentiated instruction preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Provide direct instruction in resource and/or co-taught settings
- Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and state regulations
- Participate in professional learning and school initiatives
Salary and benefits are based on the Morrison Education Association agreement.
