Contract Length: 10 Months (2 weeks before certified teachers first contractual day and two weeks after certified teachers last contractual day)

The primary function of the Assistant Principal/Pre School Director is to provide the leadership necessary to assure an educational environment which is a safe, attractive, pleasant and productive place for students to learn and grow, and to support the certified & non-certified staff as they seek to meet the needs of each student.

• Assist the Superintendent/Principal in the overall administration of the school.
• Serve as principal in the absence of the principal.
• Serve as director of the Paw Paw Preschool and manage all responsibilities that go along with the program, including evaluation of staff.
• Participate in the school and district-based staff development programs.
• Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the school and addressing special issues as necessary.
• Facilitate communication between school staff, students, parents and the community.
• Participate in programs and staff development planning activities.
• Enforce student handbooks and assign consequences for handbook infractions.
• Assist the Superintendent/Principal with professional development.
• Prepare reports for district or other personnel as needed.
• Supervise student arrivals and departures.
• Supervise lunches and recesses.
• Supervise, evaluate and complete scheduling of teaching assistants.
• Supervise extracurricular events as assigned by the Superintendent/Principal or Athletic Director.
• Attend IEP meetings assigned by the Superintendent/Principal.
• Work with Law Enforcement Officers on criminal investigations involving students and supervise DCFS interviews involving students.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position or as assigned by the Superintendent/Principal.

Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000 Based on Education and Experience
