Primary Purpose
:
Direct and manage the instructional program and oversee campus operations. Provide visionary instructional leadership to foster high standards of teaching and learning. Ensure effective implementation of district policies and programs, cultivating an environment that supports student success and community engagement.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with Mid-Management or Principal Certification
- Eligible to serve as a certified appraiser for the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the overall operations of a large, multi-campus athletic program and fine arts program
- Experience with individual player and feeder system program development
- Knowledge of state and UIL policies governing athletics and fine arts programming
- Three years of successful teaching and coaching experience
- Three years of successful assistant principal experience
- Campus principal experience preferred
Instructional Leadership
- Direct assigned school services to provide equitable opportunities for all students.
- Promote efforts to support each child’s development and ensure they achieve their fullest potential.
- Facilitate collaboration among principals, teachers, and parents to enhance student learning.
- Monitor instructional and managerial processes systematically to ensure alignment with desired outcomes and address the needs of all students.
- Encourage and support innovative instructional programs to drive academic success.
- Assist teachers in implementing effective strategies and interpreting assessment data to ensure student mastery.
- Promote a positive and caring climate for learning while fostering student engagement.
- For high school principals, oversee strategies to improve graduation rates and ensure compliance with College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) standards.
Human Capital
- Meet regularly with staff teams to strengthen the instructional program and implement district policies.
- Foster collegiality and teamwork among staff, encouraging their active involvement in decision‑making.
- Develop and maintain positive staff morale by anticipating, managing, and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Encourage personal and professional growth among staff through mentorship and leadership opportunities.
- Conduct effective hiring, orientation, and development processes in alignment with district guidelines.
- Use district‑approved evaluation processes appropriately to provide timely feedback and supervision.
- Use evaluative feedback, performance data, and professional development opportunities to improve performance.
Executive Leadership
- Define, delegate, and communicate responsibilities effectively within district guidelines.
- Develop campus budgets based on documented needs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and control.
- Identify potential risks in program modifications and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as district policies.
- Ensure facilities are well‑maintained, safe, and conducive to a positive learning environment.
- Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior as outlined by the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics.
