- Minimum
B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area. - Current Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public.
- Knowledge of relevant technology including the use of technology in the classroom.
- Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
- Plan and deliver comprehensive mathematics lessons tailored to the Illinois state standards and curriculum guidelines for middle or high school students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, manipulatives, and technology tools to facilitate student understanding and engagement in mathematical concepts.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes mathematical discourse, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and develop interdisciplinary connections.
- Integrate real-world applications and relevant contexts into mathematics instruction to enhance student relevance and motivation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and instructional technology proficiency.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, academic performance, and support strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school and district policies.
- Implement and enforce classroom and school-wide procedures to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students.
- Classroom based with regular interaction throughout the school.
- Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds.
