Job TitleLong Term Substitute – 0.5 FTE Kindergarten Classroom Assistant
Qualifications- Paraprofessional or Substitute License is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff and the public.
- Uses/operates computer or digital equipment related to the position.
- Demonstrates proficient use of English in written and oral forms.
- Patience and ability to gain student cooperation.
- Assists in the implementation of instructional programs and monitors student behavior.
- Provide individual help and assistance to students as requested.
- Assist in providing individualized and/or small group instruction and supervision.
- Reinforce learning objectives to small groups or individuals.
- Help teacher with class instruction; work with small groups to reinforce lessons, provide one‑on‑one instruction, and supervise students.
- Assist with a variety of activities (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities.
- Collect and organize teaching materials for the classroom teacher as needed.
- Assist the teacher in preparing the classroom for opening and closing of school.
- Help maintain order in classroom; monitor students to keep them on task.
- Assist in creating an environment conducive to learning, appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Assist in monitoring and supervising students during field trips and special events; escort children who need to leave the classroom.
- Maintain classroom supplies, retrieve materials, clean up work spaces, gather belongings.
- Supervise outdoor recess, lunch, and bus supervision before and after school as assigned, and enforce expectations for behavior.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Spending part of each day outdoors in varying weather conditions; occasional lifting of weights up to 50 lbs.; significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
Terms of EmploymentApprox Date of Leave: 1/12/26 – 5/29/26
Hours per Day: 4.00
Daily Pay Rate: $150
