Prepare and deliver engaging instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines.

Manage classroom/laboratory environments to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.

Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness and relevance.

Manage equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for instructional activities.

Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.

Advise students on academic matters and provide guidance to support their educational journey.

Collaborate with advisory committees, colleagues, and industry partners to enhance program effectiveness.

Attend departmental and institutional meetings to contribute to academic planning and decision-making.

Promote educational programs, participate in student recruitment efforts, and support initiatives to retain students.

Support student organizations and activities to enrich their educational experience.

Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners to facilitate student opportunities and program growth.

Complete program evaluations, engage in continuous professional development, and stay current in the field.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the institution.

Associate's Degree or higher in any field or educational equivalency:
Educational equivalency:
Occupational experience combined with education and training totaling seven years (14,000 hours).

Required Occupational Experience

5 years (10,000) of full-time experience as a licensed Aesthetician or Aesthetician Instructor. In addition, at least one of the following must be met:

• Three (3) years of related work experience in the last 5 years must have occurred in a Spa setting
• Two years of teaching aesthetics or cosmetology coursework at the post-secondary level within the last 5 years at an accredited school of Cosmetology or Aesthetics

Required Licensure and

Certifications:

Must hold a valid State of Wisconsin Cosmetologist or Aesthetician license.
AND Certifications in Microdermabrasion and Chemical Exfoliation are required.

Standards of Teaching Excellence include Understanding Students and Fostering Student Success, Classroom Management, Planning/Organization, Content Mastery and Currency, Teaching Methodology, and Assessment of Student Learning. Professional Contributions are essential. Experience with a range of technology and software is required, including email systems, office software, and classroom technology.

Essential Supportive Technology

• Online Information Management Systems (e.g., INFOnline or similar)
• Blackboard or other web-based course management systems
• Technology-based Instruction and classroom technologies (e.g., SMART, interactive displays, projectors)
• Emerging Technologies (e.g., social networking applications)

As part of the interview process, selected candidates are required to prepare a teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes, which may be conducted in-person or virtually.
