Position SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and energetic educator to join our team as an Elementary/Middle School Physical Education and Health Teacher and Athletic Director. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives on inspiring youth through physical activity, wellness education, and team sports leadership. You'll have the unique opportunity to teach engaging PE and health classes while building and managing a vibrant athletics program that aligns with our mission of care, character, and community.
Key Responsibilities- Design and teach PE and health lessons that promote fitness, healthy habits, and social-emotional well-being.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Monitor and assess student progress and communicate with families.
- Maintain and manage gym equipment and supplies.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the elementary and middle school athletics program.
- Hire, train, and support coaches for seasonal sports teams.
- Coordinate practice/game schedules, transportation, and event logistics.
- Promote sportsmanship, inclusion, and student development through athletics.
- Manage the athletics budget and ensure compliance with IHSA and campus policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Prior teaching experience at the elementary or middle school level
- Athletic program leadership experience
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Experience coaching multiple sports
- Familiarity with youth athletic leagues and budgeting
- Facility and equipment management experience
