Assistant Track and Field Coach – Plano High School (2025-26 School Year)
PLANO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #88 is seeking an Assistant Track and Field Coach to join the coaching staff for the upcoming school year. The position is full‑time and a part of our commitment to providing a high‑quality athletic program for all students.
Responsibilities- Assist the Head Coach in developing and maintaining a well‑organized practice schedule for all staff levels.
- Support the creation of a structured academic plan to improve academic performance for student‑athletes.
- Collaborate with athletic and school administration to ensure a quality athletic experience.
- Maximize practice time for individual athlete and team development.
- Supervise and administer locker room, training room, and travel bus trips.
- Assist in the summer/off‑season program to develop skills and strength.
- Manage program paperwork for eligibility, registration, match scores, records, etc., ensuring timely completion.
- Participate in planning of banquets and other team events to recognize athlete accomplishments.
- Maintain care of equipment: issuance, collection, inventory, and storage.
- Communicate with administration regarding equipment requests, budget needs, and unusual events.
- Follow district procedures for equipment purchase and operate within the budget.
- Attend all‑conference meetings and comply with IHSA requirements.
- Maintain communication with feeder coaches, programs, parents, athletes, and bus barn personnel during and outside the season.
• PEL or certified coach, ASEP, and/or substitute certification required.
CompensationSalary is based on Plano CUSD 88's Collective Bargaining Agreement.
