Cardiology Physician

One of our Partners in Illinois is seeking a General Cardiologist to provide scheduled inpatient coverage with call responsibilities. This opportunity offers strong inpatient volume, APP support, and a flexible monthly commitment with competitive compensation.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Coverage Commitment: 5-15+ days per month (consistent availability required)

• Call: Weeknight call + 24-hour weekend call (negotiable but strongly preferred)

• Setting: Acute Care Hospital (Inpatient rounding and ED consults)

• Average Daily Census: 10-30 patients

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (ongoing through 2026)

• Estimated Total Provider Earnings (13 weeks): $165,000+

• Provider Pay Ranking: Top 15% nationally for General Cardiology locum tenens ( market data)

• Inpatient general cardiology coverage with ED consults

• Balanced call structure with negotiability

• APP and administrative support in place

• All orientation hours are billable

• Travel and lodging paid by the client

• HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency

• Malpractice insurance coverage provided

• Illinois license preferred; IMLC candidates accepted

• Perform inpatient cardiology rounding

• Provide ED consult coverage

• Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions in hospitalized patients

• Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency medicine, and nursing staff

• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Cardiology (ABIM)

• Minimum 2 years of inpatient cardiology experience

• Comfortable managing variable census and consult volumes

• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
